The African Institute of Financial Markets and Risk Management in the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Cape Town is a graduate institute committed to rigorous scholarly research on financial markets. We invite applications for two Postdoctoral Researchers with a background in economics, finance, computer science, or a closely related field, who have demonstrated the potential for excellent scholarly work. The position does not have any teaching or administrative obligations. We offer a one-year contract with the option of an extension for another year. The net annual salary of R240,000 allows a very comfortable lifestyle in Cape Town. A research budget is available.
We are particularly interested in candidates working on financial interconnectedness, agent-based modelling, social network analysis, and the African economy, but researchers from all areas of finance, mathematics, computer science, and economics are encouraged to apply.
