Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) seeks a Dean to lead the Doermer School of Business. The primary duties of the Dean are to provide academic leadership, oversight of the School’s three departments (Accounting & Finance, Economics and Management & Marketing), budget and staff management, and continuous improvement so as to maintain the AACSB accreditation. The Dean will also be expected to engage the external community, fundraise for support and development of the School and its faculty, and to cooperate with other University entities and constituents to ensure the School’s continued excellence in business education.

The Doermer School of Business

The Dean, who reports to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management, administers a school consisting of three departments (Accounting & Finance, Economics and Management & Marketing). The School has undergraduate enrollment of approximately 770 students and an MBA enrollment of approximately 100 students.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must demonstrate evidence of:

• Exemplary academic qualifications (as defined by AACSB-International) in one of the disciplines of the School, including an earned doctorate and a record of outstanding academic achievement necessary for appointment as a tenured full professor;
• Successful academic leadership experience at the department chair level or above, including curricular design, strategic planning, and mobilization of others around a common vision;
• The personal skills to interact effectively with the School’s internal and external stakeholders;
• Commitment to student success, faculty excellence in teaching and research, institutional diversity, and community outreach; and
• Experience with AACSB-International accreditation.
