Position:
The Department of Economics in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants for an Instructor position for the 2016-2017 academic year, beginning August 15, 2016. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment and hiring is contingent on final budget approval. The instructor will teach primarily on-site classes but should expect to teach on-line classes as well.

Responsibilities:
Effectively deliver instruction in Principles of Economics and upper-division economics electives; evaluate student learning; participate in related department activities; advise students; and comply with all Department, College, and University regulations. Instructors normally teach four 3-credit courses per semester. The instructor will be expected to participate in the intellectual life of the Department.

Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in economics from an AACSB-accredited school of business is strongly desired. The minimum education requirement is a master’s degree in economics. College teaching experience is required and on-line teaching experience is desired. Academic and professional engagement activities sufficient to qualify under AACSB accreditation guidelines are desired.
