The person appointed must demonstrate ability, vision and ambition to lead an exceptional program of economic research into one or more global challenges facing food, agriculture, nutrition and health such as: addressing the global obesity epidemic by stimulating behaviour change in food choice and physical activity; ensuring the safety, security, and integrity of global food supplies; securing global ecosystem services and sustainable food production distribution and consumption. The person appointed will have considerable research experience of using appropriate economic techniques such as economic experiments, econometric analysis, choice modelling and stated preferences. Importantly, the successful candidate would be expected to contribute to both the Institute for Global Food Security and the Institute for Health Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences and contribute to the cross faculty BSc degree in Environmental Management.
