The Department of Economics at East Carolina University (ECU) invites applicants for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor position in the field of Health Economics. We seek a candidate with research and teaching interests in health economics broadly defined, including but not limited to, health-care data analytics, health policy evaluation, health behaviors, health outcomes, and coastal/marine public health. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct interdisciplinary work with researchers from units such as the Brody School of Medicine, the College of Allied Health Sciences, the East Carolina Heart Institute, the Center for Health Disparities and the North Carolina Agromedicine Institute. Applications are invited for a tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Department of Economics to begin August 14, 2017.

ECU is a public doctoral degree granting institution. It is the third largest member of the UNC system, with a diverse body of nearly 29,000 undergraduate and graduate students. ECU is located in the coastal region of North Carolina in Greenville. The ECU Department of Economics (http://www.ecu.edu/econ/) has three undergraduate programs and an M.S. in Quantitative Economics and Econometrics, while participating in interdisciplinary M.S. and Ph.D. programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field, (eg. JD, MD/PhD or interdisciplinary health/economics PhD) is required. Qualifying degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda supported by external funding, demonstrated command of data analytics using large, high-quality data sets and a strong record of teaching and service to the university, community, and profession.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Senior candidates with particularly strong qualifications (eg. moveable external federal funding stream, outstanding publication record in excess of 40 publications in top tier archival journals) may be considered for the endowed Harold C. Troxler Distinguished Professor of Economics.
