The Department of Nutrition in the Gillings School of Global Public Health and School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure-track position in Global and US Diet at the Assistant or Associate Level, with rank commensurate with experience. The Department is recognized as a global leader in research and training, with a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative faculty. Our breadth of research spans from cells to society and moves from discovery to implementation and dissemination. We are seeking a productive, promising, and collaborative scholar with a strong background in economics or health economics with an interest in public health nutrition. The work will focus on epidemiological research on determinants, consequences, and solutions to US and global dietary, physical activity, and nutrition-related non-communicable diseases, especially obesity. The work will have the potential for translational and policy impact. Additional information about the Department can be found at http://www.sph.unc.edu/nutr/.

Educational Requirements:
A PhD or equivalent in economics, health economics, or agricultural economics is recommended or strong econometrics training as part of a degree in another discipline.

Qualifications and Experience:
Successful candidates will have clear evidence of capacity to obtain external funding and be expected to advance a high quality, collaborative, interdisciplinary research program in global nutrition with potentially additional US-focused research. Researchers who have both domestic and global expertise and experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
