The Department of Marketing, Industrial Distribution and Economics (MIDE) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor or instructor position to begin fall of 2017. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching principles and upper division economics courses. The economics group is actively engaged in research intended to result in high quality journal publications, predominantly in the applied microeconomics fields of labor, health, education, public policy and law. We are particularly interested in applicants who will fit into this environment.
Applicants for this position should: (1) hold a PhD or Masters in economics by Fall of 2017; (2) have a commitment to teaching excellence and value high quality research; and (3) a general interest in applied microeconomics particularly the fields of labor, health, education, public policy and law.
