Colorado Evaluation and Action Lab Director

The Colorado Evaluation and Action Lab (“Lab”) is a new initiative led by the Barton Institute for Philanthropy and Social Enterprise at the University of Denver. The Lab is a partnership between the Barton Institute and the offices of the Colorado Governor and Lieutenant Governor. The Lab’s mission is to improve the lives of Coloradans by using data and evidence to address the state’s most pressing problems.

The Lab Director will play a unique role in shaping Colorado’s future. It is the rare academic post that offers such influence on the trajectory of a state and the lives of its residents. Colorado’s state and local government leaders work every day to support safety, health, educational and economic opportunity for all Coloradans. Ensuring that they spend our state’s limited dollars wisely requires careful examination of what works – and what doesn’t – in our public sector programs. Smart use of data will drive innovation, efficiency, and effectiveness, and will help improve the lives of our citizens, putting the Lab at the forefront of a national movement to build better government.
