The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic has two openings in management positions for senior economists in the modelling and forecasting department.

A successful candidate will be an economist with a graduate degree in economics or related disciplines (preferably a PhD), a strong publication record in academic journals in the areas of macroeconomics and finance, an interest in academic production, the ability to manage projects and coordinate teams, and strong oral and written communication skills in Spanish and in English.

The main responsibility for these two positions is to lead a team that will develop a suite of models of the Argentine economy that will be used to evaluate macroeconomic policies. These models would include aggregate macroeconomic models, as well as more detailed models specific to key areas such as the financial system, the labor market and international links. The positions involve frequent interactions with other economists in the Central Bank and with members of the monetary policy committee. The job description also involves presenting research in academic conferences as well as representing the Central Bank in different national and international fora.
