Professor David Cutler of Harvard University leads an AHRQ–funded project to examine health care delivery system traits that predict better clinical and economic outcomes. You will work with researchers at Harvard and regional health care organizations to gather and analyze data on medical care in four states. The project is located at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D.; experience in health care; strong computer and programming skills; experience with commercial medical claims; and be able to work independently.
Duties include:
• Acquire, process files from All Payer Claims Datasets
• SAS, STATA statistical analyses
• Work with state partners & researchers at Harvard
• Maintain documentation
• Summarize & present findings; prepare manuscripts, including lead authorship as appropriate
Required:
• Ph.D. in economics, statistics or related quantitative field
• Knowledge of SAS & Stata, work with large data sets
• Familiarity with health care system, clinical terms and concepts
