BBVA Research is looking for an economist with 3-5 years of relevant experience to support the bank’s strategic economic analysis, Big Data and Behavioral Economic initiatives.
A critical, objective and empirical mindset, asking timely, relevant and succinct questions.
Proven ability to deliver forward-looking and strategic analysis with creative and innovative solutions.
Conduct research on macroeconomic trends, industries and regional economies.
Draft briefings, create professional quality graphics and develop other summary materials.
Assist in preparation and delivery of presentations.
Identify and solve complex statistical problems using Microsoft Excel, Stata, R, SAS and E-views.
Capacity to fulfil requests under tight deadlines.
Ability to work in teams and to collaborate with individuals outside the U.S.
Build and maintain professional networks.
Masters or PhD Degree in Economics.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in applied economic/financial analysis/research.
Excellent written and oral communication in English and strong desire to write reports.
Unquestionable commitment with quality and deadlines.
Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Proven interest in financial/banking organizations.
Capacity of working alone or in teams.
Experience with large datasets or big data techniques.
Strong computer skills; proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau and Plotly.
