The Economic Research Service (ERS), United States Department of Agriculture, anticipates having positions available for applicants with strong research skills. The mission is to inform and enhance public and private decision making on economic and policy issues related to agriculture, food, the environment, and rural development. ERS is a primary source of economic information and research in the USDA. ERS economists conduct timely, policy-relevant research on such issues as childhood obesity, international markets and trade, Asian markets, health and nutrition, prices and industrial organization of food and commodity markets, farming risk and resilience, climate change, rural poverty, bioenergy, big data and behavioral economics.
