The W.E. Upjohn Institute invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position. The Institute is an endowed, nonprofit research organization that conducts independent, nonpartisan research on employment-related issues. The purpose of the position is to bring talented researchers to the Institute to interact with its research staff and to conduct research of mutual interest. The Institute is interested in research on issues related to employment, compensation, education, workforce development programs, and social insurance systems. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in policy-oriented research and plan to complete their PhD by September 2019. The position is ideal for someone who has received an offer for a regular appointment that is deferred until after the postdoctoral appointment-year ends. The Institute provides a competitive salary and benefits and access to research assistants, library services, computer support, and data. Postdoctoral scholars are given the opportunity to complete and submit papers to journals, develop their own research, contribute to the Institute’s working paper and seminar series, and co-author with the Institute’s economists.
