The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Virginia Tech is currently recruiting for an Assistant Professor with a specialization in sustainable agriculture. This is a 9 month academic-year appointment with expectations for funding summer activities through external grants, fee-based workshops, or other mechanisms.

This tenure-track position is 50 percent teaching and 50 percent research. Posting #TR0180162
Required Qualifications:
• PhD in Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics or a closely related discipline
• Coursework and/or experience in simulation-based modeling
Preferred Qualifications:
• Coursework and/or experience in teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in economics of sustainable agriculture
• Experience applying for grants or other funding for programmatic support
• Record of peer-reviewed publications
• Experience working with clientele such as industry groups and government agencies
