Full Text of JOE Listing:

CBO, a nonpartisan agency that provides Congress with the objective, timely analysis needed for economic and budgetary decisions seeks a Unit Chief to manage analyses of climate change and the environment, energy, and infrastructure. The portfolio of work is broad and changes over time depending on the needs of Congress; currently there is an emphasis on climate change.

The Unit Chief will work with other managers in the division to develop and implement a strategic agenda for assessing the budgetary and economic effects of developments and legislative proposals. For example, the Unit Chief will help lead CBO's analyses of the economic effects of climate change and its analyses of the effects of fiscal policies intended to influence energy production and consumption.

The key responsibilities of the Unit Chief include helping identify and design projects that inform Congressional decisionmaking; managing the development, writing, and review of reports and other publications that stem from those projects; and mentoring a staff of about seven economists.

A Ph.D. in economics or a related discipline and at least 7 years of relevant experience (or a master's degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience) is required.
