Full Text of JOE Listing:

The General Directorate of Economic Research at Banco de México, the Mexican central bank, is interested in hiring experienced or newly qualified Ph.D.'s in economics or related fields for its Regional Office in Mérida, Yucatán.

Main tasks: to carry out high-quality research both for publication in refereed journals and for the Bank's senior management, focusing on general economics and policy issues and also on regional economics. Non-native speakers are expected to have, or commit to acquire, a good command of written and spoken Spanish.

The research department offers an excellent work and research environment, data and computing resource availability, intense external and internal seminar series, workshops, conference travel support, a multinational workforce and competitive compensation.

Interviews will be carried out during May and June 2021. Ph.D. graduates or applicants in the process of graduation should submit a CV, a research paper, three letters of reference and a cover letter explaining their interest in working for Banco de México in its Merida Regional Office, through EconJobMarket (https://www.econjobmarket.org).
