The Department of Health Management and Policy (HMP) at the University of Michigan is seeking a faculty member at the rank of assistant professor within the field of health economics. Individuals who have or will complete degrees in economics, public health, health services, business, and related areas, with a track record in health economics/policy research and teaching are encouraged to apply. The ideal person for the position has strong research skills and evidence of a funded or fundable research agenda that focuses on the policy aspects of important public health, healthcare or related issues. The candidate must have completed a PhD by September 1, 2023.

Initial interviews will be conducted at the American Economic Association meetings; we will accommodate applicants not attending the meetings as needed.

We seek researchers with strong scholarly credentials and a record or promise of external research funding. The faculty member will be expected to teach at the masters and doctorate level, and possibly in the School of Public Health’s undergraduate program.
