Peter Hull (Brown), Jason Abaluck (Yale), and Amanda Starc (Northwestern) are looking to hire a full-time research assistant (RA) to start around January 2023. The RA will work on a health economics project related to the mortality effects of Medicaid Advantage plans. There will be a 35 hour/week commitment from January 2023-June 2024 with an option of extending an additional year. The RA will be responsible for cleaning and constructing data, and generating summary statistics, graphics, and regression results. The RA will work directly with the PIs and meet weekly to review goals and progress. There will likely be additional work with Peter on other projects, with occasional meetings at Brown. The RA will be a full-time employee of the NBER with a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Applicants should have completed an undergraduate degree in economics, math, statistics, or computer programming, and have advanced programming skills in Stata. Experience in SAS and other statistical software (e.g. R or Python) is preferred. Applicants who will graduate in winter 2023 will be considered. Ideal candidate will have research experience and interest in applied microeconomics. Knowledge of LaTeX, Unix, and applied econometrics is a plus.
