The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is seeking a Communication Research Scientist (CRS) to enhance communication of any number of risks related to key NAIC initiatives, for example the communication of various natural disaster risks and importance of having the associated proper level of insurance coverage in place, and being an important component of the strategic plan. This includes direct-to-consumer and coordinated multi-state communication efforts with NAIC member states’ Public Information Offices (PIOs). Work directly with the CIPR Director along with NAIC Communications Director and other staff to develop an applied communications research program addressing two key components which are communication strategy identify optimal methods for tailoring NAIC communication to reach intended audiences, and evaluate the effectiveness of such communication on jointly to-be-determined effectiveness outcomes.

Requirements:
PhD in a relevant field (e.g., communication, behavioral and decision-making sciences) with an existing publication record and/or associated 3-5 years of experience preferred.
