Call for open competition to those interested in filling a position of Full-Time Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Administration and Business and the UCU Business School.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Business, Finance, Economics, Administration, Accounting, Tax Administration, Operations or related areas by August 2023 (in case of applying for Assistant) or have
completed it before February 2018 (in case of applying for Associate). Candidates must demonstrate an active substantive research agenda and the ability to publish in English.

We are looking for candidates with active research agendas and quality publications in areas such as: Business Intelligence, Big Data, Innovation and Technology, Behavioral Economics, ESG and Corporate Finance.

The Department provides teaching to the Faculty of Business Sciences, as well as the UCU Business School.

Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching and ability to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels. They must also be willing and able to work in teams, as well as to manage human resources. Adherence to the principles of the University will be valued (https://ucu.edu.uy). Successful candidates are expected to work full-time (160 hours per month), and start working in August 2023. The University offers competitive working conditions, remuneration and career prospects.

Applications will be received until December 16, 2022. A complete application must contain (1) cover letter, (2) CV, (3) an example of a undergraduate course program that the candidate would be able to teach, (4) up to 2 examples of academic research work, (5) teacher evaluations, and (6) three letters of recommendation. The application is made electronically.

The selection process will consist of the following stages. First, a short list of candidates will be selected to be interviewed by the Selection Committee in person or videoconference in case of residing abroad. Then, 3 shortlisted candidates will be invited to the Montevideo campus to present their research and hold interviews with members of the Department and other authorities. The selection committee may request from the candidates, at any time during the process, additional materials or the corresponding accreditations. The decisions of the selection committee will be final. The Universidad Católica del Uruguay reserves the right not to hire any candidates, without responsibility of any kind at its own expense.
