School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the fields of international trade and quantitative economics, with a particular emphasis on quantitative analysis of global value chains. The main research task of this position is to apply two newly developed databases for China to study major theoretical and practical economic and environment issues related to China's new development strategy and industrial upgrading from the perspective of global value chains. The two databases are: (1) China's inter-provincial Input-Output database distinguishes 3 type firm ownerships (domestic-, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan-, Foreign owned), which covers 31 provinces 42 industries, and five benchmark year over 20 years (1997-2017); (2) An inter-city Input-Output database for Greater China area, which includes 367 prefecture-level cities in mainland China and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, covers 4 base years (2002-2017) and 42 industries.

Applicants must have a Ph.D at the time of appointment from an accredited institution. The appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2023 for two years.
