The Better Government Lab at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University seeks applications for a post-doctoral fellow. This is a full-time position for up to two years, with a start date of fall 2024. The post-doctoral Fellow will work with Professors Sebastian Jilke and Krista Ruffini on studies related to the evaluation of a zero-fare transit program (ZFP) in partnership with the City of Philadelphia. ZFP is evaluated using a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) and will be examined using administrative data, travel diaries, and longitudinal survey data. Candidates that have recently completed a PhD, as well as those near the completion of a PhD (i.e., ABD),are welcome to apply.
We seek candidates with strong data sciences kills,and preferably experience in analyzing Randomized Controlled Trials and working with administrative data.Interest in transport policy, safety net programs,and spatial analysis is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong communicative,interpersonal, and project management skills.
The primary responsibility will be to assess how free transport through ZFP affects labor market outcomes, engagement with the safety net, and general well-being by analyzing complex administrative data, survey responses, and travel diaries. The PIs may, in collaboration with the post-doctoral fellow, identify other research opportunities.
