Robotic Equipment Expenditures https://www.census.gov/data/experimental-data-products/robotic-equipment-expenditures.html
Data tables: https://www.census.gov/library/publications/2019/econ/2018-robotic-equipment.html

Capital expenditures for robotic equipment were collected for the first time on the 2018 Annual Capital Expenditures Survey (ACES) to fill a data gap in response to growing interest and high demand by researchers and congress, etc., on measuring robotics as part of official government statistics. Specifically, measures of robot adoption intensity and the impact on employment and productivity.

In order to meet the needs of its data users, the Census Bureau has made it a priority to:

Measure the industries that are using robotic equipment.
Publish the robotic equipment expenditures data annually in conjunction with the ACES report.

Capital expenditures for both industrial and service robotic equipment were collected from employer businesses at the company level. The data are tabulated using the 2017 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to the firm based on the company's primary business activity.

The new ACES tables provide national level estimates of capital expenditures for robotic equipment by 2-digit NAICS sector and select 3-digit and 4-digit NAICS industries.

The new ACES charts provide national level estimates of capital expenditures for robotic equipment by size distribution (based on payroll) and by share of firms by size (based on payroll) by select 2-digit NAICS sectors.
