David Zetland is a university lecturer at Leiden University College, where he teaches various classes on economics, sustainability and entrepreneurship. He received his PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from UC Davis in 2008, held an S.v. Ciriacy-Wantrup Postdoctoral Fellowship in Natural Resource Economics and Political Economy at UC Berkeley (2008-2010), researched as a Senior Water Economist at Wageningen University (2011-2013), taught as an Instructor at Simon Fraser University (Spring 2014), and held a Visiting Fellowship at KAPSARC in Riyadh (May 2014). He blogs at The One-handed Economist, has written three books (The End of Abundance: economic solutions to water scarcity (2011), Living with Water Scarcity (2014), and The Best of Aguanomics (2018)), and founded, edited and published two collections of climate disruption stories (Life plus 2 Meters, Volumes I and II). David gives talks to public, professional and academic audiences and writes for popular and academic outlets. David lives in Amsterdam.
