The DC Department of Employment Services is looking to fill two (2) Labor Economist positions within the Office of Labor Market Research and Information (LMRI).
The incumbents will be expected to:
1. Develop and analyze workforce data to monitor and improve agency performance, workforce program outcomes, and performance of workforce training providers.
2. Initiate new products, revise existing products and/or explore new product delivery systems.
3. Apply econometric tools to policy questions and provide advice and guidance that will assist in the understanding and forming policies.
Qualification Requirements:
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Economics or related field from an accredited university.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong ability to make research accessible to a wide audience and to translate it into practical solutions.
- Commitment to teamwork and knowledge sharing, and working with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects across different sectors.
- Demonstrated competence with STATA and/or SAS, a strong background in empirical analysis related to workforce development research, good verbal and written communication skills.
