RTI's Public Health Economics Program is seeking a senior researcher with demonstrated experience or interest in health economics, quantitative evaluation of health outcomes, or health care reform. The program conducts contract and grant funded studies on obesity, diabetes, heart disease, HIV and other chronic and infectious diseases as well as on vaccination and other public health programs and policies. The job requires an understanding of the principles of cost-effectiveness analysis, research design and hypothesis testing, and advanced econometrics. Experience with simulation models, participation on successful project teams, and development of peer-reviewed publications are highly desirable. This position will be located in Research Triangle Park, NC.
Qualifications:
--PhD or PhD candidate in Economics or related field with 1 year experience in health economics
--Understanding of principles of cost-effectiveness, research design and hypothesis testing, and advanced econometrics
--Interest in developing a research agenda
--Interest in obtaining funding
--Ability to publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Responsibilities:
--Lead ongoing and new projects
--Lead research staff on projects
--Contribute to grant and contract proposals to government agencies and other funding sources.
