The Department of Economics at the University of St. Thomas invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant professor level beginning in September 2014. We seek applications from candidates in the area of health economics or labor economics. The typical teaching load is 3 courses (2 preparations) per semester in a small-class setting, typically consisting of two sections of principles and one upper division course.
Candidates should have their PhD completed or substantially completed by the time the appointment begins (the initial appointment will be at the instructor level if the PhD is not completed by September 1, 2014). The successful candidate will possess a commitment to undergraduate education and to maintaining a productive research agenda.
In order to ensure full consideration, materials should be submitted by December 10, 2013. Screening interviews will be conducted at the ASSA meetings in Philadelphia. Applicants should submit a cover letter indicating areas of teaching and research interests, a graduate transcript, a CV, evidence of teaching effectiveness, a research paper, and a one page statement of teaching philosophy to https://jobs.stthomas.edu.
