The Davis Endowment is an independent program at the College entirely supported by a large, permanent endowment. The Endowment seeks to promote the understanding of markets and entrepreneurship through the provision of classes, internships, public lectures, and residencies by business executives and entrepreneurs.
The new Davis Professor must be a recognized scholar with a demonstrated history of scholarship within the interests of the Endowment. These include entrepreneurship and innovation, market economies, organizations, organizational behavior, economic institutions, and business and economic history. The initial appointment is for 2 years with a teaching load of 2/2. Upon good performance, thereafter 5 year, renewable contracts are employed with a teaching load of 3/2.
