The Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Resnick Sustainability Institute at the California Institute of Technology invite applications for one Postdoctoral instructorship in the social sciences at Caltech, starting Fall 2015, under the direction of Professor John Ledyard. The scholar will teach one undergraduate course in the economics of sustainability and conduct research on problems related to the design of new economic and political organizations and policies that will provide the incentives and information necessary to the adoption of transformative discoveries in the science and technology of sustainability. PhD's in economics or related fields are preferred. Theoretical modeling skills in one or more of the areas of microeconomics, game theory, and political science are highly desirable. Our preference is for candidates skilled in the area of mechanism design and who will work in renewable resources problems, but all highly qualified scholars will be considered.
