Pandora is a multi-sided platform operating to delight around 80 million active listeners, respect the work of hundreds of thousands of artists, and advantage the message of thousands of advertisers. You will be in charge of understanding the network benefits and interactions among these Pandora users, measuring the effects on these user groups, and developing approaches to increase network benefits. You'll be designing, implementing, and communicating analyses and research to internal and external audiences. We are looking for a quantitative researcher experienced in auction design or multi-sided networks who is enthusiastic about aiding artists and delighting millions of listeners. You'll interact regularly with senior leadership, engineers, product managers, and other key stakeholders in the marketing and strategy teams to directly guide and shape Pandora's efforts in platform engagement.
Requirements:
PhD in Economics or similar
3+ years of applied research experience, with demonstrated expertise in economics and/or statistics
Strong background in design and execution of large-scale quantitative analyses
R, Python (scientific libraries), or other scientific computing language
Experience in mechanism design, auction theory, and/or applied IO
Strong communication skills to explain the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner
Familiarity with SQ, Hadoop and Hive
