Pending budgetary approval, the American Bar Foundation (ABF) invites applications to join its Residential Faculty as a Research Professor beginning September 1, 2016.

We seek earlier-stage candidates with a PhD or JD and the potential for exemplary scholarship in law and the social sciences. Research area and discipline are open.

The ABF is an independent research institute doing social science research on law, legal institutions, and legal processes. Its faculty includes leading scholars in law and in the social and behavioral sciences.

The ABF offers competitive salary, benefits, and research support. If jointly appointed with a Chicago-area academic institution, the ABF coordinates on salary, benefits, and work arrangements.

Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2015. We ask that applicants submit a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a writing sample, a brief (no more than 2-page) description of current research and plans for future research, and a list of three references.
