Landcare Research is one of seven Crown Research Institutes in New Zealand. Our purpose is to drive innovation in managing terrestrial biodiversity and land resources in order to both protect the terrestrial environment and grow New Zealand’s prosperity.
We are recruiting another economist with a strong interest in natural resources, the environment, and public policy. Candidates must have a PhD degree and a track record of applied research focusing on economic modelling, empirical analysis, and/or evaluating ecosystem services. The successful candidate will contribute to existing research projects and will develop new research areas in partnership with end users and stakeholders. Experience conducting policy-relevant research and experience working in the public and/or private sector is desirable.
The position requires excellent communication skills for both specialised and non-expert audiences and publishing research results in international peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will also be expected to lead projects and to develop new research opportunities. The position is based in Auckland (Lincoln by negotiation).
