The Department of Finance in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University invites applications for Lecturer, Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor in the area of Finance. This is a fixed-term appointment, full-time position with no tenure implications starting in August 2016. Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications, experience and rank.
The candidate must contribute to the Department of Finance’s mission primarily in the areas of teaching, curriculum development, and service. The candidate must be able to deliver excellent instruction and to contribute to curriculum development at the undergraduate and master’s levels.
For all ranks: Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level. Faculty qualifications as determined by the W. P. Carey School of Business for AACSB accreditation purposes.
For a Lecturer position: Master's Degree in Finance or closely related field.
For a Clinical Assistant Professor position: A doctorate in Finance or a closely related field.
For a Clinical Associate Professor position:
•A doctorate in Finance or a closely related field.
•The equivalent of 5 years of full time teaching at ASU with a significant amount of this being in teaching Finance related courses. The 5 years may be reduced on a case-by-case basis provided the candidate has significant teaching and/or scholarly research accomplishments within Finance, or substantial relevant professional experience.
•Significant excellence in teaching, as demonstrated by indicators such as teaching evaluations, preparation of innovative course materials, textbook or case publication, new course preparation, academic or practitioner-oriented publications, and successful teaching in a variety of different types of courses.
•Active participation in service roles related to teaching which may include A) active participation in department or school committees related to instruction, and B) participation in national professional activities related to teaching Finance (such as attending relevant national meetings).
