Graduate School of Economics and Management, Tohoku University is inviting applications for an assistant/associate professor position in economics starting from October 1, 2016 until March 31, 2020 (may renewable once according to the funding situation).
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in Economics by the time of the appointment, a publication record in peer-reviewed journals, and teaching skills in microeconomics. While the teaching will be in English, Japanese language proficiency is preferable.
Tohoku University offers Global Program in Economics and Management (GPEM) at graduate level and International Program in Liberal Arts (IPLA) at undergraduate level. Most lectures in both programs are provided in English. The successful applicant will teach microeconomics and other subjects for both programs, and will perform related duties including (but not limited to) supporting international students and coordinating workshops.
