The Department of Economics invites highly qualified applicants for temporary positions as Lecturer for the 2016-17 academic year. Lectureship appointments are non-tenure, part time appointments made quarter by quarter, as dictated by instructional needs and budget constraints of the department.
To be considered for an appointment as lecturer, candidates must have strong teaching skills as evidenced by significant prior classroom experience, or proven and outstanding industry expertise. Candidates must be able to handle a large class environment. Desirable fields for undergraduate teaching are principles of economics, intermediate micro and macro, statistics, and econometrics. Upper division elective courses are a possibility. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in economics or in fields of comparable sophistication.
