The Department of Economics in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for both full- and part-time Lecturer I positions for both Fall Term 2016 and Winter Term 2017, pending budget authorization. These are non-tenure track positions.
Appointing Academic Unit: Economics
Anticipated Bargaining Unit Title: Lecturer I
Anticipated Term of Appointment: Fall Term only, Winter Term only, or both Fall and Winter Terms
Anticipated Per-Term Appointment Effort: 33% (one course), 67% (two courses) or 100% (3 courses)
Duties of a Lecturer I position are expected to include teaching sections of the undergraduate curriculum at the 200-, 300- and/or 400-level, developing course materials, evaluating and grading students, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and handling routine matters related to instruction.
A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a Lecturer I in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts is three courses per semester.

Submit current and dated curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy and experience, evidence of teaching excellence, and three letters of reference reflecting on the candidate's teaching accomplishments to the Department’s “Lecturer I” posting on EconJobMarket at https://www.econjobmarket.org/ by April 30, 2016. Review of applications will commence immediately. We expect to begin making offers no sooner than April 4, 2016. Offers will continue to be made until open teaching needs are met or September 1, 2016, whichever is earlier. As noted above, our ability to extend offers is also dependent upon budgetary approval.
