Full Text of JOE Listing:

Applications are invited for a non-tenure-track two-year faculty appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics to begin in August 2016. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching. An appointee will be expected to offer three undergraduate courses in both fall and spring semesters; current plans are for two each semester to be electives with an intermediate theory prerequisite and one an elective with a principles prerequisite. The appointee will have wide latitude to select the topic for each of the courses.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Applicants with an economics PhD at the date of appointment are preferred, but those with ABD will be considered. Applicants should send a cover letter that includes a list of teaching interests and a history of courses taught, a current curriculum vitae, and evidence of teaching effectiveness (including the results of student evaluations, if available) and arrange for submission of three reference letters, with as many as possible specifically addressing teaching ability. Binghamton University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, and we welcome applications by women and minorities.
