The Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics (AREC) is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor of Practice position to teach courses in agribusiness, managerial economics, finance, and related areas. The position also includes undergraduate coordination and student recruitment for the undergraduate program in AREC. This is a 12-month, full-time appointment. The position is ongoing, non-tenure track with opportunities to advance in rank.
Teaching:
• Teach six courses both live and possibly online during the academic year and in summer sessions.
• Provide mentoring and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students (e.g., honors student theses, independent study projects, supervision of graduate teaching assistants and preceptors, graduate student advising).
• Work with faculty and advisors in developing curriculum, delivering classroom instruction, fomenting career-readiness preparation, and monitoring outcome assessments.
Minimum Qualifications:
• M.S. in agricultural economics, business, economics or related discipline.
• Relevant teaching and student mentoring experience in face-to-face classroom settings.
• Demonstrated ability to design college-level coursework.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in and/or knowledge of agribusiness economics and management.
• Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching methods.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Ph.D. in agricultural economics, business, economics, or related discipline.
