The Department of Economics, Finance and Legal Studies in the Culverhouse College of Commerce at The University of Alabama invites applications for the Alabama Association of Realtors Chair of Real Estate. Primary duties include teaching real estate courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels; maintaining a nationally-recognized level of research scholarship with publications in top-tier real estate, finance, and economics journals that address critical issues facing the real estate industry; and serving the educational and research needs of the real estate industry. The appointment can be at either the associate or full professor rank, depending on the candidate’s experience and record.
Required Qualifications: (1) A doctoral degree in real estate, finance, economics or a closely related field; (2) record of high quality research and in high-quality journals consistent with appointment at associate/full professor; (3) demonstrated high-quality teaching in real estate.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicants with demonstrated experience working with the real estate industry through research, consulting, education, or other programs are strongly preferred.
