The University of Idaho’s Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month position at the assistant professor rank beginning August 2017. A preferred candidate will have research and teaching interests at the nexus of environmental and agricultural economics. Specific areas of expertise may include agricultural-environmental policy, non-point source agricultural pollution, and water nutrient management, including research on economic mechanisms to address water quality issues. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses.

The individual hired will be an affiliate of the University of Idaho’s Water Resources Program, an interdisciplinary program involving faculty campus-wide, dedicated to promoting and enabling socially-relevant research. As part of the cluster hire of faculty affiliated with this program, the successful applicant will join a vibrant research community.
