The School of Government has one vacant open rank research-professor position. We welcome candidates in applied economics, public finance, household economics, public policy or other related fields.
Candidates are expected to strengthen the ability of the School of Government to influence policy debates in areas such as poverty and social policy, inequality, fiscal systems, federalism and local government, health economics, and environmental policy in Mexico and globally. Other specializations are also welcome and will be considered by the Search Committee. The School of Government offers a dynamic academic environment with excellent research support.
Candidates must have the ability to conduct high quality, original research and to publish in internationally-recognized peer-reviewed journals. They should also be committed to teaching and mentoring Masters and PhD students.
Responsibilities include teaching in the graduate programs and undergraduate courses offered by the School of Government, and fulfillment of a research program as presented in the candidate’s application. Teaching may be done exclusively in English, although a solid knowledge of Spanish is strongly encouraged. The teaching load is 4 courses per year, and specific agreements will depend on the candidate’s rank and potential contribution to the School’s mission.

Research statement for the next 3 years (no longer than three pages).
Teaching philosophy (no more than two pages).
Curriculum Vitae accompanied by a cover letter.
Writing sample not exceeding 50 double spaced pages (the candidate should be the first author of the text, preferably a refereed journal article).
Three letters of recommendation written within the last year. In the case of early career scholars (2013-2015), at least one of these letters should come from the PhD advisor.
