The Central Bank of Chile is looking to fill up one Economist/Senior Economist position in its Modeling and Economic Analysis Department.
Economists at the Modeling and Economic Analysis Department conduct high-quality applied research to guide the economic policy process taken by the Central Bank. Economists are expected to publish this research in academic journals and present it at international conferences. Economists should also contribute to the Bank by identifying relevant policy issues, writing policy notes,and briefing the Board in topics of her/his expertise.
The Modeling and Economic Analysis Department is part of the Research Division. The departments employs 10 PhD economists graduated from U.S. and European universities, as well as Master-level research assistants who collaborate with the research projects and macroeconomic analysis.
Applicants should have a PhD in Economics or equivalent by September 2017. Experienced, already graduated PhD economists are also encouraged to apply at the Senior Economist level. Areas of interest should be preferably in monetary policy, international macroeconomics and finance, labor economics, and macroeconometrics, but applicants with other interests related to macroeconomics and finance are also encouraged to apply.
