This fellowship, supervised by Dr. Matthew Rabin, intended to begin July 1, 2017 and last at least two years, is to support new PhD's as they conduct research incorporating psychological evidence into formal economic theory. Fellows will be expected to participate in the intellectual life of the Harvard Economics Department and the NOM group at HBS, without any teaching, research assistance, or coauthorship requirements.
To meet the goals of the fellowship, the successful candidate must have formal training in economic theory and empirical skills that is truly comparable to the level of training provided by top-flight U.S. PhD Economics programs, and a real interest and talent in economic theory, as well as a proven interest in developing theory that is inspired by behavioral realism and aspires to improve empirical economics and policy analysis.
