Research health economics opportunities and challenges for the association and communicate potential outcomes.
1.Design and conduct studies that require advance empirical methods or mixed quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods and develop forecasting models for health care utilization and costs.
2.Evaluate health policy issues from an economics or financial perspective.
3.Lead tasks and projects with sound analytic methods
4.Design, implement and evaluate programs that improve the organization, payment and delivery of health care services.
5.Assess the impact of health policies on physicians and patients, working closely with state and federal lobbyists and the legal team.
6.Evaluate government and private sector policies, programs and proposals on topics such as: health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, workers compensation, Affordable Care Act, medical liability, health information technology, etc.
7.Serve as a resource to staff in methodological or health care policy areas
Qualifications:
•The successful candidate will have excellent technical and writing skills in the areas of health economics and/or outcomes research.
•Candidates should possess three to five years working in health policy economics, including a Master’s degree, or PhD in Economics
•Experience working with policymakers and advocates
