The Heritage Foundation's mission is "to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense."
The Senior Policy Analyst engages in empirical and other research and publication with particular emphasis on excelling within a collaborative, team-based policy development environment. This work includes but is not limited to producing statistical and other quantitative analyses in areas such as labor, regulation, budget, and financial markets. The Senior Policy Analyst authors significant and influential papers, and plays a leadership role in conservative policy development, and represents Heritage in many settings, including conferences, public events, and legislative hearings and meetings.
Required: Expert knowledge of theoretical and applied economics and various tools of statistical analysis. Must have the ability to communicate complex, policy-relevant economics issues to broad audiences orally and in writing, and communicate policy positions in multiple media, including print and broadcast, and through personal relationships, public speaking and as an expert commentator. Must understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America.
Preferred: Ph.D. with 3-5 years of engagement in policy development. Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program is acceptable.
