The George Mason University Department of Economics seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position(s) at the Assistant Professor level and/or for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position(s) at the Associate or Full Professor level. The start date is flexible, but could be as early as January 2019. Responsibilities for an Assistant Professor:
The department seeks candidates who complement Mason's strengths, particularly in political economy or experimental economics, although other fields will be considered as well. Successful candidates will be expected to:
*Sustain a robust research program;
*Produce peer-reviewed publications;
*Seek external support for their scholarly activities
*Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses;
*Participate in faculty governance; and
*Participate in professional organizations and societies.
*Demonstrate the academic potential to become successful senior scholars.
Required Qualifications for an Assistant Professor:
*Ph.D. in economics;
*An active research agenda that complements Mason's strengths.
*Preferred Qualifications for an Assistant Professor:
*Ability to teach advanced courses in political economy, quantitative methods and/or experimental economics, although other fields will be considered as well.
Responsibilities for an Associate/Full Professor:
The department seeks candidates who complement Mason's strengths, particularly in political economy or experimental economics, although other fields will be considered as well. Successful candidates will have an accomplished publication record that demonstrates skills that can be used to advance an innovative research program, and will be expected to:
*Sustain a robust research program;
*Produce peer-reviewed publications;
*Seek external support for their scholarly activities
*Mentor graduate students;
*Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses;
*Participate in faculty governance; and
*Participate in professional organizations and societies.
Required Qualifications for Associate/Full Professor:
*Ph.D. in economics;
*An active research agenda that complements Mason's strengths.
*Demonstrated excellence in research, and in graduate or undergraduate teaching.
*Preferred Qualifications:
*Ability to teach advanced courses in political economy, quantitative methods and/or experimental economics, although other fields will be considered as well.
