The Bank for International Settlements is a global forum for monetary and financial cooperation and a bank for central banks.

The BIS invites applications for a key appointment within its Monetary and Economic Department (MED). As the head of the department’s Monetary Policy unit, you will lead a small team of economists specialised in this field and help to define and execute policy-relevant research.

In addition to conducting high-quality research and policy analysis in the areas of monetary policy and exchange rate issues, you will represent the BIS at official meetings and seminars, and develop contacts in central bank, academic and financial market circles.

We look forward to meeting candidates with a PhD in economics or finance and relevant experience gained in a central bank or international financial institution, including active involvement in monetary policy formulation or implementation. Candidates will have a solid research and publication record.
