James Madison College at Michigan State University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor Tenure-Stream position in political economy/political theory with a focus on state and marketplace interaction and the history of modern commercial democracy. The position fills a commitment to infuse economics training with a major that focuses on modern constitutional democracy from the perspective of political philosophy. Potential research and teaching focus include feminist theory, religion and economics, family and gender issues in the workplace, and federalism, as such issues complement the study of constitutional structure and modern capitalism.
Successful candidates will have ability to teach courses on state and market interaction as well as courses in the history of political thought. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in an interdisciplinary program and to achieving a substantial record of scholarship.
