The Department of Finance in the School of Management at the University of San Francisco is seeking to fill a position of Assistant Professor in Finance with a subfield in an area of applied finance such as Derivatives, International Finance, Corporate Finance, and Investments. The position is anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2019. This is a tenure-track appointment. Ph.D. in Finance or Economics from an AACSB-accredited institution is required. Rank and salary will be commensurate with academic achievement, a demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and published research. Business experience is a plus. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service is expected.
We are especially interested in candidates with an empirical research agenda, financial market experience, and familiarity with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) program and its curriculum.
Teaching Responsibilities: Candidates will teach both required and elective finance courses in our undergraduate and graduate programs. Areas of teaching emphasis include international finance, derivatives, corporate finance, and financial econometrics. Applicants should be familiar or be comfortable using STATA and/or MATLAB in the classroom. Familiarity with R, SAS and Python is desirable.
