Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Foreign Service Institute of the U.S. Department of State seeks a Ph.D. economist with an outstanding teaching record, a strong interest in innovative curriculum design, and excellent communication skills for the position of International Economist in the Economic Studies Division. Incumbent will teach U.S. career diplomats whose work as economic officers domestically and abroad will directly affect U.S. foreign economic policies. Candidates should have several years of teaching experience at the advanced undergraduate and/or Master’s level with an emphasis on practical applications. Experience living and working abroad is helpful as it lends credibility in the classroom. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen. Position is a two-year appointment with renewal options of five-year appointments after the probationary period. Salary range: $96,970 - $148,967 and includes standard Federal benefits.
